The Department of Psychology consists of 29 research-active faculty and about 60 graduate students. The Department offers both the Master of Arts and the Doctor of Philosophy degrees in psychology, with specialization in cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, psychobiology, and social psychology. The department is located in Boca Raton, a suburban resort community on the Atlantic Ocean, halfway between Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. The department's combination of an internationally recognized research program, located in a premier semitropical setting, is unique, making the Department an attractive destination for talented graduate students and top-notch research faculty. Boca Raton offers a multitude of attractions for both visitors and those who make it their home, including miles of public beaches (just minutes away from the University), 40 public parks, worlds class golf courses and numerous shopping and dining destinations. In addition, it is within an hours' drive to Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, both premier destinations for cultural events, dining and nightlife.
